I recently watched this. Brutal Noir -- black as they come.
Highly recommended.

'Where the Wild Things Are' - I loved it

and...

'The First Day of the Rest of your Life' - A brilliant French film, the sort of family drama that the French excel at. Funny, emotional, and well worth a watch

I saw Sherlock Holmes yesterday! I liked it.

Carrington.

About the Bloomsbury Group painter Dora Carrington and her many loves, particularly the eccentric Lytton Strachey. It is very slow. Nothing much happens. Loved it.

I watched Departures (Okuribito) a few days ago and I loved it.    It's a couple of years old, but just finally got around to watching it.

Another part of punctuation is capital letters and small letters. Anybody can really do as they please about that and in English printing one may say that they always have.

I've resorted to bootlegging but I like to be independent.     Regal Cinema can fuck itself.

Not that I've watched anything not yet on DVD for a while.     I must contribute: New Jack City.     "Kinda like what crack did to Pookie.    "

I was real fucking high when I watched Avatar so I gave it brownie points for the smurfs all grown up.

All grown up?

They were fucking huge.

Also, I've the strangest craving to watch The Grinch.

The Labyrinth, never gets old.

new movies: Shutter Island and Watchmen.
both bored me, but i was hung over so didn't really like paying attention.

Watchmen could have been a lot shorter, they could have taken out the superhero aspect for most of it and the movie wouldn't have changed.

Shutter Island was confusing. i knew the ending before i saw the movie but i was still thinking what the hell is going on?
might read the book to see if that's better.

I wasn't that impressed by Watchmen when I first saw it, but about a week later I thought it through and realized that it was really good. I haven't watched it a second time yet, but I've been meaning to. Same with a lot of other movies I've seen that have had me thinking for a while.

Besides, any movie containing an erotically unappealing but artistically moving sex scene with the original (and best) version of Hallelujah playing in the background is an absolute win for me.

I'd be fine without that, actually. I prefer purplish red.
