How do you guys name your characters?

I've always been horrible at it.  When I look back at the stories I go ugh.  The names always seem to stick out like a light blinking the word STOOPID over and over again.

My main character name is: Olaf.

He is a nutter. A eccentric mooncalf.
It's not a great name but it works for the character.

Another one I used for a short story about bananans was
William Shepherd. I don't know if it's a good name but it's his.

I really must create more characters.

I'm one of those retards that makes up names on the fly.  They're mainly generic names like Sarah or Maria. x.x

I avoid naming characters as much as possible.   Sometimes, though, they insist on being named.   When this happens, I demand that they name their own damn selves.

Another part of punctuation is capital letters and small letters. Anybody can really do as they please about that and in English printing one may say that they always have.

i generally just name them on the fly like kelsy and jenifer do. sometimes i'll try to match the name up with their personalties or something.
